Clarence E. Hally, age 84 passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 after a long struggle with cancer. He was born April 8, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of Patrick and Lillian (McCabe) Hally. Clarence graduated from Holy Cross grade school and attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. He enlisted in the US Army during WW II and served in both the Japanese and European theatres of war. He retired from the Indianapolis Police department after 23 years of service. He was employed by the US Postal service in Rushville, Indiana as a mail carrier for 8 years. He was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church and the FOP Lodge #86 in Indianapolis and a former member of the Lake Santee Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife Liz; two sons, Timothy Hally, Indianapolis, Samuel R. Hally, California; one daughter, Pamela (Andy) Jackson, Alabama; six grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Piatt, Jacob Hally, Lisa (Steven) Anewalt, Bryan Bruegge, April (Shaun) Powell, Amber Jackson; 3 great grandchildren, Keirstin, Mason and Siena; one nephew, Chris Hally. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Hally. Visitation will be from 1-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday with family and friends invited to share. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the St. Maurice Catholic Church with Father George officiating. Interment will be held in private at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorials may be made to the Parish Council of Catholic Women at St. Maurice Church.
