Geoffrey "John" Maynard

Geoffrey "John" Maynard, 84, Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born, February 27, 1926 in New Point, Indiana, he was the son of Otto L. and Helen F. (Megley) Maynard. He was a retired salesman for the Eckrich Company, having worked there for 32 years. He graduated from New Point High School in 1944. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW. He was a veteran of the Army serving in the Korean War. He was married to Betty J. Clark on November 22, 1947 she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Jon (Debbie) Maynard, Fishers, Randall (Vicki) Maynard, Pendleton; one brother, Lionel "Mike" Maynard, Hampton, VA; one sister, Helen Jane AmRhein, Greensburg; three grandchildren, Samantha Maynard, Peter Hunter, Chad Hunter; two great grandchildren, Lila and Maya Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Arnold, Gordon, Clifford and Leroy Maynard; one sister, Elizabeth "Beth" LaFountain. Visitation will be from 1-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
