Edward Joseph "Joe" Blanton, 52, Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the I.U. Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born, December 11, 1957 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Lewis Blanton, Jr. and Marlene Holcomb.
He was a musician. He was a member of the "Louie and the Country Sounds" and the "John Castle Band".
He is also survived by his mother, Marlene (Carl) Holcomb, Indianapolis; three sons, Fred Blanton, Indianapolis, Andy Blanton, Indianapolis, Alex Blanton, Indianapolis; one daughter, Courtney Blanton, Indianapolis; three sisters, Debra A. Petty, Nicholasville, Ky., Kimberly Wheatley-Muns, Indianapolis, Tammie Blanton-Reynolds, Indianapolis; girlfriend, Lisa Craddock, Shirley, In.; mother of his children, Theresa Blanton, Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Johnny L. Blanton.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Nonie Lee officiating.
Interment will be held in the Milford Cemetery in Milford.
