Dorothy Laura Jewell

Dorothy Laura Jewell, 90, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Born, November 27, 1919 in Sandusky, she was the daughter of Hilmar J. and Elenora E. (Walke) Dwenger, Sr. Dorothy graduated from Sandusky High School. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #927 where she had served as President of the group and was the "mother of the lodge" at one time. She is survived by one son, Mike Gina Sullivan) Jewell, Batesville; one daughter, Joyce Wilder, Ohio; one sister, Carol Unseld, Bardstown, Ky.; five grandson, Michael Jewell, Matthew Jewell, Jason Wilder, Jeremy Wilder, Jerome Wilder; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Hilmar J. Dwenger, Jr. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral costs.
