Leonard L. Powers

Leonard L. Powers, 82, Greensburg, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Born, May 16, 1928 in Versailles, Indiana, he was the son of George Adam and Dollie Mae (Wheeldon) Powers. He was a former employee of BCA. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He was married to Annie J. Burton on January 19, 1960 and she preceded him in death on February 20, 2000. He is survived by one step-son, Bobby Lucas, Tennessee; four step-daughters, Betty Lucas, Columbus, Judy Vail, North Vernon, Beverly Sutton, Greensburg, Sally Schott, Greensburg; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Lawrence, George, Carl and Harry Powers; two sisters, Virginia Ray and Irene Reetz. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Dover officiating. Interment will be held in the Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts.
