Mildred Schoettmer, 91, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, June 19, 1919 in Millhousen, Indiana, she was the daughter of William and Clara (Ruhl) Fry. She was married to Raymond Schoettmer on July 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1985. Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a homemaker, a caregiver, and she also worked as a seamstress. She loved making quilts for her family and she also enjoyed gardening. Mildred is survived by one son; Bill Schoettmer, Columbus, IN, two daughters; Ruth (Gary) Atchley, Greensburg, Jean (Roger) Harrison, Westport, 10 grandchildren; Toby, Troy, and Tim Schoettmer, Lori (Scott) Helms, Mark Atchley, Lisa (Greg) McNealy, Clint (Jane) Harrison, Kelli, Katie, and Bradley Harrison, and 11 great grandchildren; Kyra, Tyus, and Jocelyn Schoettmer, Brayden and Brooke Helms, Keaton and Madison Atchley, Dalton and Clayton McNealy, Raygan Harrison, and Cameron Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Vincent, Ferd, and Alfred Fry, and one sister; Lillian Lustig. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary service will be held at 10:30 am prior to visitation. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the Decatur County Hospice.
