Lester J. Braun

Lester J. Braun, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, December 26, 1920 in Ripley County, Indiana, he was the son of August and Elizabeth (Wilmer) Braun. Lester served in the United States Army during WWII from October of 1942 through December of 1945. Lester was married to Samantha Jane Cloud on May 9, 1975 and she preceded him in death on July 2, 1997. Lester was a resident of Millhousen, Indiana where he was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is survived by one step-son; James (Nancy) Cloud, Rushville, one step-daughter; Mary Johnson, Florida, one brother; Tom Braun, Greensburg, 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a step-daughter; Jane Newton. Visitation will be from 12-2 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 following visitation at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Sr. Christine Ernstes officiating. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to Hospice.
