Bernard Wesley Tabor, 82, Clarksburg, went home to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Ellen on September 14, 2019. Born on September 30, 1936 in Myra, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Andrew Wesley and Hester Ann (Adkins) Tabor. Bernie joined the Navy at the age of 18 in 1953. He was a radio operator class A stationed on the U.S.S. Rockwall (APA-230). He served until being honorably discharged in 1955. After the Navy, Bernie worked at a Block Company in Huntington, WV and leased and operated a Texaco Gas Station. Before passing, Bernard acknowledged being saved, accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Bernard was married to Ellen Stuart on June 21, 1989 and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2010. Bernie leaves behind six brothers; Dennis Tabor, Lyle Tabor, and David Tabor, all of Florida, Charles Tabor, Louisville, Gary Tabor and Michael Tabor, both of West Virginia, six sisters; Ruth Jeffers, Clyde, OH, Lois Nibert, Ripley, WV, Patricia Grimmett, Charleston, WV, Iva Johnson, Charleston, WV, Carla Conrad, Canton, OH, Drema Dunlap, Pennsylvania, step grandchildren; Shelby Fugate, Kelsey Solsberry, Matthew Solsberry, Chyenne Solsberry, and his caregiver; Eddie Fugate. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife; Ellen (Stuart) Tabor, and two brothers; Everett Roy and Kennith Tabor. Visitation will be from 1 -2 pm on Tuesday, September 17 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Seamon officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
