Betty J. Welsh

Betty J. Welsh, 90, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was born on March 11, 1930 in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of Roy and Sarah (Irwin) Cardinal.

Betty graduated from Dupont High School in 1948.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Post #129 Ladies Auxiliary for 65 years, and the Eastern Star for many years.  She enjoyed researching genealogy, oil painting, flea markets, and fishing.  She crochet many baby afghans and her biggest joy was spending time with family.

She married David J. Welsh on July 30, 1949 and he survives.

Other survivors include one son, Tom (Paula) Welsh, Christiansburg, VA; one daughter, Sharon Welsh, Greensburg; six grandchildren, Chi (Dave) Hamilton, Jeff (Lori) Wenning, Chris Welsh, Anna (JJ) Painter, Zach (Brittany) Welsh, Blake Welsh; eleven great grandchildren, Chelsea Karnes, Zac Linville, Alyssa Gibson, Zoe Howard, Dylan Jarvis, Aries Jarvis, Sarah Painter, Vivian Painter, Lilli Welsh, Sam Welsh, Emma Welsh; two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Larry Welsh.

Visitation for family and friends, observing CDC and state guidelines for social distancing and facial coverings will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ray Sweet officiating.  Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #129.
