Charles Edwin Ruble, 97, Clarksburg passed away at his home on March 7, 2018. Charles was born in Greensburg on December 20, 1920 to the late George Ruble and Sarah (Gibbs) Ruble Robbins. Charles joined the Navy and served during WWII from 1941 to 1945. Charles married Carmen Louise Hite on July 20, 1946. They were married almost 72 years and she survives. He was a member of the Clarksburg Covenant Church. He was devoted to God and his church for many years. He was a carpenter in the area. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by three daughters, Barbara Jean Van Hook, Bloomington, Charlotte Louise (Norman) Coleman, Indiantown, FL, Marcia Kay (Don) Rolfe, Milroy, two sons, Steven Lee ( Debbie) Ruble, Cincinnati, Duane Edward (Mary Ann) Ruble, Greensburg, 7 grandchildren, Misty (Tim) Miller, Greensburg, Steven (Lisa) Ruble, Connersville, Melisa Rolfe, Milroy, David (Heather) Rolfe, Milroy, Paulette (John) Boone, Cincinnati, Bradley (Sharon) Ruble, Cincinnati, Wendy (Jody) Adams, Connersville, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 4 great-great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Asby Robbins, one son, Charles Edward Ruble, son-in-law, Philip Van Hook, two sisters, Violet Hersley, Elizabeth Hacker, three brothers, William, Marion, and Edgar Ruble, 3 step sisters, Dorothy Baker, Bernice Unchpher, Evelyn Robbins, and two step brothers, Dan and Marshall Robbins. Visitation will be from 10-12 noon on Saturday at the Clarksburg Covenant Church in Clarksburg followed by Funeral Services at Noon with Rev. Dan Smith and Rev. Peter Casalino officiating. Burial and military graveside rites will follow at Richland Methodist Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Our Hospice.
