Cheryl J. Naderman

August 25, 1953 — November 23, 2020

Cheryl Joy (Holt) Naderman was born to Sylvester and Mary Grace (Stowers) Holt on Tuesday, August 25, 1953. As a child, she attended Sandcreek Elementary and South Decatur High School. Her horse, Midnight, was the love of her life until she met farmer and mechanic, Albert Naderman, at the age of 19 while working as a waitress. They were wed just three months later on June 22, 1974. Their marriage of 45 years brought them five children and eleven grandchildren. She was excited to be welcoming their first great-grandchild this Spring. Sadly, Albert passed away in October 2019, and she has missed him greatly every moment since.

Cheryl was a member of Immaculate Conception Church for most of her life, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition to the hard work of being a farmer’s wife and mother of five, she was employed for several years at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center and Madison State Hospital until her retirement. Her dream job, however, was to be a race car driver.

When many people think of Cheryl, the first thing that comes to mind is her contagious smile. She was beautiful, generous, strong, and fiercely loved her babies. She was always busy. It was not unusual to find her working in the garden, canning vegetables, hanging clothes on the clothesline, mowing the yard, redecorating a room, or planting flowers. She taught her children how to have fun, work hard, and love Jesus. They say it’s hard to keep a good man down, but keeping Cheryl down was even harder.

Cheryl passed away peacefully at her home on November 23rd with her family around her, just as she would have wanted. Those who were not able to be there in person, were with her in thought and heart. Her family are better people just for having known her, and they will forever feel her loss.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Michelle Joy (Fred) Miller, Kimberly Marie (Michael) Shaw, Albert Matthew (Magnolia) Naderman, George Anthony (Courtney) Naderman, and Adam Joseph Naderman. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jaden Matthew (Marissa) Miller, Justin Albert Miller, Sara Michelle Miller, Carson Michael Shaw, Brady Dennis Shaw, Joshua Matthew Naderman, Cecilia Michelle Naderman, Albert Matthew Naderman, Jr, Isaac Joseph Naderman, Charley Joy Naderman, and Carter Rose Naderman. Great-grandson, Cameron Albert Miller, is expected this Spring. She was proceeded in death by her husband, both of her parents, and several siblings.
