Cynthia J. Moore

Cynthia J. Moore 72, Greensburg, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2024 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born July 18, 1951 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Joseph B. and Loyd Jacqulyn “Jackie” (Barnard) Swegman.

Cindy graduated from Greensburg High School in 1969, she then attended Purdue before graduating from IU with a Bachelors Degree in Cytotechnology.  She spent the majority of her career working at Columbus Regional Hospital until retirement.

Cindy married Jeffrey W. Moore on July 27, 1974 and they had three children - Joe, Michael and Lauren. For nearly fifty years, they shared a love of boating and being on the water. She loved baking, traveling and spending as much time with her five beloved grandchildren as possible - attending every concert, sporting or school event she could.

For Cindy, there was no greater joy than being surrounded by friends, family and her precious grandchildren.

Cindy was a lifelong member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church.  She was committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through her unwavering volunteer service with a priority given to daily devotions and prayer. She was also a former member of PSI IOTA ZI and very active in the BSF (Bible Study Fellowship).

Cindy is survived by her father; Joseph B. Swegman, Greensburg, her husband; Jeffrey Moore, Greensburg, two sons; J. Joseph (Jenny) Moore, Greenwood, Michael D. (Whitney) Moore, Franklin TN, one daughter; Lauren Moore Gibbs, Greenfield, one brother; J. Bruce (Diana) Swegman, Greensburg, and five grandchildren; Alex Moore, Ashley Moore, Asher Moore, Makenna Moore, and Leighanna Gibbs.

She was preceded in death by her mother; Loyd Jacqulyn “Jackie” Swegman.

Her famous pies, prayers, family meals, advice, and late night chats will be greatly cherished and sorely missed.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating.  Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church or Bible Study Fellowship.
