Dennis J Lecher

Dennis John Lecher, 80, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his residence.

Born, August 22, 1942 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of George and Johanna (Rudolf) Lecher.

Dennis worked as a material handler at Federal Mogul (BCA) for 35 years starting in 1968 and retiring in 2004. He served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was married to Gayla Ann Moenter on May 6, 1972 and she survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Jana Gail (Alexander) Scott, Van Nuys, CA; brothers, Robert (Betsy) Lecher, Steven (Edith) Lecher, Eugene (Patti) Lecher, Ronald (Donna) Lecher; grandchildren, Justin, Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth, Victoria, Liliana, and Abigail Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kyle Dennis Lecher; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Ruth) Lecher.

Family and friends will gather at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2022 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Alan Hirt and Fr. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church or School, or Oldenburg Academy – Moenter Music Scholarship.
