Ellen "Bernece" Wheeler

Ellen Bernece Wheeler, 88, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away with her children by her side Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born November 10, 1935, in Monroe County, Kentucky, the daughter of Willie Tip and Mary Pearl Cross.

Bernece was a wife, mother, and homemaker for the majority of her many blessed years of life. She enjoyed traveling; painting; making crafts; flower gardening; collecting dolls, handkerchiefs, cups and saucers; and she loved animals.

She is survived by her son, Reggie Wheeler; daughters: Lisa Wheeler and Lana Wheeler; all of Greensburg, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Luree Cross; and her husband, Nelson Wheeler, who she married June 27, 1956, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Granting her wishes, a private graveside service will be held at South Park Cemetery on Friday, February 23, 2024, with Pastor Doug Preston officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Decatur County Humane Society.
