Gloria K. Haycock

Gloria Kathleen Haycock, 88, Shelbyville, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. Born, August 27, 1929 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of Paul and Freida (Somers) Nation.  Gloria graduated from Ball State University and worked for over 20 years as the school librarian and then in administration at Triton Central High School. She had been a very active member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and she was a former national officer.  She was recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash Award. She was also a member of the Lake Santee Women’s Club and the Clarksburg Christian Church. She was married to Jack Haycock on June 9, 1948 and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2016. She is survived by one son, Jay (Sara) Haycock, Greenfield; one daughter, Pam (Jeff) Linder, Indianapolis; one sister, Patty Talbott, Fishers; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Memorial Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Jeri Barrett-Thomas officiating. Interment will be held in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the "Our Hospice".
