Gordon Ora Bennett

Gordon Ora Bennett, 45, Greensburg, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at his residence. Born, May 8, 1973 in Shelby County, Indiana, he was the son of Charles and Vivian (Hill) Bennett.  Gordon graduated in 1991 from Greensburg Community High School.  He worked for Smith Implements in Greensburg and was a Fireman with the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.  Gordon enjoyed working with stained glass, car shows, and motorcycles. He was married to Melody Ann Linville on September 5, 2015 and she survives. He is also survived by three children, Zac Bennett, Westport, Steve (Alli) Bennett, Westport, Samantha Bennett, Milford; three step children, Amanda (Clay) Brancamp Cooke, Terre Haute, Craig (Lora) Brancamp, Westport, Ben (Karen) Brancamp, Greensburg; four brothers, Terry Stoops, Kentucky, Kenny Stoops, Pigeon Forge, TN, Jerry (Mary) Bennett, Shelbyville, Danny (Cindy) Bennett, Rushville; three sisters, Cindy (Jody) Mcneece, Utah, Ruth Ann (Jim) Landwerlen, Shelbyville, Shirley Higginbotham, Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ricky Stoops, Melvin Bennett. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Metz officiating. Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Westport Volunteer Fire Department, the Bartholomew County Humane society, or the Hospice of Decatur County.
