Jack C. Poore

Jack C. Poore, 82, passed away on August 19, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona.  Born, July 9, 1938 in Westport, Indiana he was the son of Walter D. and Ella Louise (Vandivier) Poore.  Jack graduated from Greensburg High School in 1956.  He was a board member for the Decatur County Historical Society.  Jack was an avid historian of Indiana High School Basketball and has written 4 books on the subject.  Jack and Ella were members of the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene in Oro Valley Arizona.  He worked for the NY Central Railroad for 33 years before retirement.  Jack married Ella Mary Rumppe on December 19, 1970 and she survives.  Jack and Ella moved to Arizona and have enjoyed retirement there for the last 18 years.  Visitation will be at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 10-11 am following CDC guidelines for social distancing.  Funeral Services will start at 11 am on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
