James Edward Griffith

James Edward Griffith, LTC, USA, retired, was born May 29, 1933 in Tacoma, Washington, to the late Helen M. Griffith and the late James V. Griffith, passed away at age 90 on July 26, 2023 in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida.  James was the beloved husband of the late Lauran Parcell Griffith.  He is survived by his sons, James (Sarah) Griffith, and Paul (Dawn) Griffith; daughters, Deborah (Randy) Reynolds, Colleen (Brad) Burton, Kim (Mel) Shields, and Erin (Gordon) Smith; 16 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  James will be remembered for his dedication and love to his family and church.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 - 1976 and his career included assignments to Vietnam and Thailand during the Vietnam War.  In service to his faith, James was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Serra Club and Knights of the Holy Sepulchre.

Friends and family members are invited to attend the memorial mass on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 930 SW Tunis Ave., Port St. Lucie, Florida 34953.  A reception will follow.  Memorial contributions can be made to any Veterans organization.
