Janet P. Dance

Janet Pearl Dance, 84, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on November 9, 2024, at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg, Indiana. She was born on December 20, 1939, in Rush County, Indiana, the daughter of Preston Click and Edith (Mantooth) Williams.

Janet spent much of her working life in retail, with a special 13-year tenure at Minear's Department Store. On August 4, 1973, Janet married Fred Dance, and the two shared many years together before his passing in 2017.  She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee in hand, relishing the time with her family, and watching mystery shows on television. Above all, Janet treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was deeply devoted to her family, and her great-grandchildren brought her much joy.

Janet is survived by her children Christy Nesbit, Kelly (David) Scheidler, Jeff Dance, and David (Teresa) Dance; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Norman Click, Dwight Williams, James Click, and Violet Click.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Fred, her son Kim Martin, her daughter Nancy DeBusk, her grandson Daniel Brossman, and her brother Stanley Click.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Milford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Greensburg-Decatur County Animal Shelter or the Decatur County Kids Closet.
