Obituary for Kent Douglas "Doug" Markland
Kent Douglas “Doug” Markland of Greensburg IN, passed away June 29, 2021 at the age of 68.
He was born on March 25, 1953 to parents Jo Ann (Dick) and Robert Owen Markland Sr.
He is survived by his 3 siblings: Paula Wallpe of Greensburg IN, Gene Markland of Greensburg IN, Peggy Dorrmann of Cincinnati OH, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert O. Markland Jr.
Before becoming ill, Doug was an avid fisherman, hunter, card shark, tale spinner (as many can attest to), and he loved to ride his Harley with his brothers from other Mothers: Corbin, Gault, Hankins and Kroger.
Doug had many friends, his laughter, crazy antics and the stories he could tell will be forever missed by those of us who were lucky enough to call him brother, uncle, or friend.
A visitation will be held on July 6, 2021 from 5pm-8pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson funeral home in Greensburg. A ride to his final resting place will be arranged for a later date with a Celebration of Life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to cover funeral expenses can be made to the family via the funeral home or to the American Lung Association.
