Larry L. Pfeiffer, 72, of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Larry was born in Corydon, Indiana on May 7, 1945 to Bernie “Bud” and Doris (Kopp) Pfeiffer. After graduating from Corydon Central High School, Larry joined the Navy. He served during the Vietnam Era from 1963 to 1967 and spent time in Iceland and was stationed aboard the USS Pocono. Larry was 911 Communications Supervisor a for the Indiana State Police and the Madison, Indiana Police Department. He was a lifelong Methodist. Larry’s greatest passion was genealogy. He was married to Karen D. Ogle on March 14, 1980 and she survives. Larry is survived by his mother, Doris Pfeiffer, his wife, Karen Pfeiffer, Greensburg, two sons, Jonathan Pfeiffer, Lanesville, IN, Timothy Pfeiffer, Greensburg, two daughters, Darla LeMonis, Lanesville, IN, Rachel Pfeiffer Hayden, husband, Timothy, Port Orchard, WA, three brothers, Joe Pfeiffer and Stephanie Vines, Salem, IN, Tom Pfeiffer, wife, Sherry, Corydon, Jim Pfeiffer, wife, Jeanette, North Vernon, one sister, Barbara Boley, husband, Maurice, Elizabeth,, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Pfeiffer, and brother, John Pfeiffer. A memorial service will take place at Faith Points Lutheran Church, 814 W Sheridan St., Greensburg, IN on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Michael Layne officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
