Lauran Griffith

Mrs. Lauran Parcell (Peabody) Griffith, born on October 9, 1934 in Seattle, Washington, to the late Ida Parcell Peabody and the late Laurance Peabody, passed away at age 83 on July 22, 2018 in Weston, Florida.  Lauran was the beloved wife of James Edward Griffith.  She is survived by her sons, James (Sarah) Griffith and Paul (Dawn) Griffith; daughters, Deborah (Randy) Reynolds, Greensburg, Colleen (Brad) Burton, Kimberly (Mel) Shields, and Erin (Gordon) Smith; brother, Larry (Mary) Peabody; and sister, Jean Peabody McMahon; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Lauran will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends, her volunteer work as a foster grandparent, and her lifelong commitment to her Catholic faith life.  She enjoyed lectoring, and her prayer group at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church as well as her time at the Lyric Theater.  Friends and family members are invited to attend the memorial mass on Saturday, August 4 ^th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 350 NW California Blvd., Pt. St. Lucie, Florida, 34986.  A reception will follow in the parish hall.  Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Lauran Griffith to the Foster Grandparent Program c/o/ Area Agency on Aging 4400 N.
