Obituary for Linda Ann Gommel

Linda Ann Gommel left this world to be at peace with our Lord on August 3, 2021. Linda was born January 5, 1948, to Walter and Violet (Roszell) Snyder.

She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1966. While in high school, she met the love of her life, David Gregory Gommel, and they were married on November 18, 1967, at United Methodist Church in Greensburg. Together they raised two wonderful sons who were the light of her life.

Throughout her early years she worked as a telephone operator and at the local YMCA, later she was employed at McDonald’s and Gecom Corporation. At the end of her working career, she became involved and served as the Director of the Southeast Chapter of the Red Cross, aiding those in and around her community. Her most rewarding career was happily spent as a wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother. Over the years Linda’s hobbies included participating in the church choir, assisting with the annual live nativity scene, playing in the handbell choir, and especially her passion and beautiful talent for quilting. Linda loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren and enjoyed watching them compete in sports and school activities.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, David Gommel of Greensburg; son Stephen (Dottie) Gommel, of Greensburg; son Matthew (Karen) Gommel of Rogers, Arkansas; grandson Spenser (Leslie) Gommel, Harrison, Ohio; granddaughter Abigail Gommel, Harrison, Ohio; and grandson Cooper Gommel, of Rogers, Arkansas. As well as awaiting her first great-grandchild in December. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Walter Snyder.
