Linda Lou Luken

It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Linda L. (Effing) Luken (71).  Linda passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on June 24,1952, in Batesville, Indiana to Loretta and John Effing.

Linda graduated from Batesville High School in 1970.  Linda married Richard Luken, the love of her life, on June 5th, 1971 where they resided in Greensburg, Indiana.  Linda and Richard were blessed with three children; Jeffrey (Kathy) Luken, Greensburg, Kristy (Shaun) Ortman, Greensburg, Katy (Ryan) Kegley, Osgood; grandchildren; Cole (Cassidy) Ortman, Laryssa Ortman, Kaitlyn Luken, Luke Kegley, Lynze Kegley; and fur baby, June Bug.   Linda’s family, especially her grandkids, meant everything to her.  She was known for her love of cooking, flower beds, camping, and her sewing abilities.

For the last 17 years Linda worked with doctors DJ and Eric Weigel. Linda’s passion was helping give the gift of sight.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 11am, with an additional hour of visitation from 10-11am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greensburg, Indiana.  Final resting place will be in  Millhousen at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.

Donations can be made to Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home to assist underprivileged children with their vision needs.
