Marita Ann Butz Wagner

Marita Ann Butz Wagner, 89, of Carmel, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the home which she shared with her daughter, Tricia.  She was born July 9, 1931 in Millhousen, Indiana the daughter of Lawrence A. and Marcella E. (Fry) Redelman.

Marita had resided the past 40 plus years in Carmel.  She was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg. She had worked for over 10 years at the Paul Harris Corporate Office.

She was married first to Berthold Butz in 1948 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1961.  She then married James O. Wagner, Jr. in 1971 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2009.

She is survived by six children, Allan Butz (wife - Vicki), Greensburg, Donald Butz (wife – Kathy), Greensburg, Deborah Hatton (Husband – Darrell), Greensburg, Paul Butz, Las Vegas, NV, Beverly De La Cruz (husband – Julio, deceased), Austin, TX, Tricia Wagner, Carmel; one sister, Rosella Langlois, Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, David (DJ), Brian, Michael, Casey, Heath, Sheana, Trey, Katelyn, Deanna, Beverly, Kelly, Julio (JD) and 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; one son, James R. Butz; three brothers, Carl, Ralph, and Paul Redelman; one sister, Betty Boing; one grandchild, Rebecca Rodriguez.

While observing CDC and state guidelines for social distancing and required facial coverings, family and friends will gather at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until the funeral mass to be held at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen.
