Mary J. "Jeanie" Beagle

Mary J. “Jeanie” Beagle, 86, of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Heritage House in Greensburg.  She was born March 4, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Alfred and Jennie (Hester) Duffey, both deceased. She married Ray F. Beagle on October 13, 1956 and he survives.

Jeanie graduated in 1953 from Greensburg Community High School.  She managed the cafeteria at Greensburg Junior High for several years and she had managed the kitchen at the Greensburg Country Club. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she chaired the church funeral meals for several years and has been part of the adoration chapel.  She had many friends and loved everyone she met. She was an avid golfer and had participated in the Monday Night Ladies League at the Country Club.  She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and a euchre club with her friends.  Jeanie catered many weddings and was considered the “best cook”.  Her family loved her Holiday pies and prime rib.

She is survived by her husband Ray; four children, Rick (Sherry) Beagle, Chris (Suzie) Beagle, Karen (Rick) Meyer, Kathy (Mark) Porter, all of Greensburg; grandchildren, Kyle Porter, Tyler Porter, Karly Porter, Adam Meyer, Dylan Meyer, Zane Beagle, Zack Beagle, Greg Beagle, Ashton Geyer, Christopher Dilk, and Emily Bruns; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tom Duffey.

Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until the time of the funeral mass to be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic School.
