Mary Jo Fry

Mary Jo Fry, 83, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Greensburg, IN. Mary was born on July 20, 1938 in Batesville, IN as the daughter of Arthur and Teresa Smith.

After high school Mary went on to further her education to become a CNA. She worked as a CNA at St. Francis Hospital from 1966 to her retirement in 2002. On September 17, 1960, Mary married the love of her life, Timothy J. Fry. The two were happily married until his passing in February of 2001. In Mary’s free time she loved to travel and do crosswords. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her grandkids were the world to her, and she had a soft spot for all babies. Mary will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her children: Timothy F. Fry, Teresa Hornberger; grandchildren: Michelle Carr, Johnny Hornberger; great grandchildren: Ginger Carr, Gianna Carr, Evelyn Hornberger, Willie Hornberger; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Timothy J. Fry; son, William Fry; and 7 siblings.

A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg, IN. Visitation will follow the Rosary from 10:00 am – 11:00 am also at the church. The funeral mass will be held immediately after the viewing at 11:00am with Father Bill Ehalt officiating.
