Michael D. Heger

Michael Dale Heger, 62, Greensburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home in Greensburg. Born August 19, 1956 in Decatur County, Indiana, he was the son of Dale & Betty (Hull) Heger. He was a graduate of Jac Cen Del High School 1974. He spent most of his career as an Real Estate Appraiser in southeastern Indiana having done 1000’s of properties in the area. Well known for his attention to detail on appraisals and would go to great length to include all information in his reports. He loved traveling, nature and camping. Mike was a partner in the development of Cottonwood Lake in Decatur County. Mike enjoyed mechanics, specifically muscle cars and Jeeps. He was a long time member of NHRA Drag Racing having raced at the US Nationals in Indianapolis and attended each year since. Mike was a stalwart conservative patriot with enthusiasm for political debates. He was married to Rhonda (Beard) Heger on October 29, 1982 and she survives. He is survived by his daughter Emily (Aaron Mentz) and mother Betty Heger. Mike’s siblings include brothers; James Heger, Larry and Melinda (Haunert) Heger and sister Pam (Bob) Nobbe. He is also survived by his grandson Boone Michael Mentz. He was preceded in death by his father Dale. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Millhousen. Memorials may be made to  Our Hospice.
