Paul M. Dunagan, Sr, 93, Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. Born on December 10, 1925 in Boyle County, Kentucky, he was the son of Jay and Nannie Rea (Flynn) Dunagan. Paul graduated from Fairland High School in 1943. Paul farmed, drove a school bus, and worked at John Deere as a salesman for 37 years and didn’t retire until he was 81 years old. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge in Fairland, the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, and he was a member of the Shriners. Paul was a former president of the Decatur County Memorial Hospital board and served on the board for 20 + years. Paul was very proud to be a grandfather and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He followed the Greensburg Girls Basketball Team and his family extends a special thank you to the team for everything they have done for Paul. Paul married Grace Louise Denson on March 13, 1946 and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2015. He is survived by one son; Paul M. Dunagan, II, Greensburg, two daugthers; Gloria L. Dunagan, Greensburg, Gina Meyer and fiance’ Mike Balser, Greensburg, one sister; Margaret Boilanger, Shelbyville, grandchildren; Jennifer Smith, Kirby (Whitney) Dunagan, Jay Dunagan, Sydney Meyer, and great grandchildren; Mackenzie (Jake) Fries, Hunter Smith, and Everly Grace Dunagan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Grace Dunagan, daughter; Karen Lynn Dunagan, four brothers; Jay, Emery, J.K., and Harry Dunagan, and sister; Emogene Plymate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A masonic service will start at 7:30 pm on Friday during visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 31 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Poling officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Donations may be made in Paul’s honor to Our Hospice.
