Ricky Joseph Kunkel

Ricky Joseph Kunkel, 59, passed away Sunday, February 21, in Troy, Ohio. Rick was born on June 30, 1961, in Batesville, IN, the son of Clifford and Ruth (Harmeyer) Kunkel. He attended St. Louis School, and North Decatur High School. After school, he moved to Ft. Myers, Florida , where he was a successful contractor for many years. He later moved to Byrdstown, TN. Rick had a great sense of humor and he enjoyed riding motorcycles and cooking for his family who he adored. Rick is survived by his daughters, Hayley Kunkel and Ariel Kunkel both of Ft. Myers, FL, his long time companion, Molly Plank of Troy, OH, grandchildren Jace Shuttleworth and Amiyah Cala of Ft Myers, FL, brothers Gary Kunkel of Greensburg, IN, David and Mark Kunkel of Ft. Myers, FL, sisters Carol Kramer of Greensburg, Lynne Miller and Angie Wood of Batesville, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Molly’s daughters Chelsea and Rosie Griffith, Troy, OH, son Brandon Loughman, Sparta, TN, 6 grandchildren and 1 on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions can be made to Bread of Life, Greensburg, IN. Rick’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
