Rita P. Koors

Rita P. Koors, 76, of Greensburg passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.  Rita was born on August 6, 1942 in Hamburg, to William and Catherine (Effing) Harpring.  Rita went to school at St. Anne’s in Hamburg and earned her High School diploma from American High School.  She enjoyed sewing and worked at Carol Cook Dress Factory in Greensburg and Hillenbrand in Batesville before she was married.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg.  Rita married Louis H. Koors on October 13, 1962 and he survives.  She is also survived by 3 sons; Kevin (Shirley) Koors, Tennessee, Cletus (Lyuda) Koors, Mulberry, IN, Ryan Koors, Indianapolis, 2 daughters; Karen Koors, Lafayette, Shirley Koors, Lafayette, sister; Betty (Maurice) Brown, Clarksburg, and 9 grandchildren.  Rita was preceded in death by 2 daughters; Rose and Brenda Koors, 3 brothers; Len, Richard, and Paul Harpring, and 2 sisters; Joey Schepers, and Mary Veerkamp.  Visitation will be at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2 from 4-8 pm. with a Rosary starting at 3:30 pm.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 3 at 11 am with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Building Fund or the organization of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences can be made at www.popfuneralhome.com
