Robert E. “Bob” Veerkamp, 61, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his residence in Greensburg.  Born, September 18, 1957 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Clarence J. and Mary C. "Estell" (Thewes) Veerkamp.  Bob graduated from Greensburg High School in 1977.  After school, Bob worked for Burger Chef and Hardees in Greensburg.  Most recently, he was an employee of the City of Greensburg, where he drove the snow plows and garbage trucks for the city.  He retired in 2017.  Bob was a member of St. Mary's Church.  He was also a proud supporter of Greensburg High School athletics where he attended numerous games in most boys and girls sports.  Bob is survived by 2 brothers; Charlie Veerkamp, Greensburg, Dale Veerkamp, Greensburg, 7 sisters; Mary Roseberry, Greensburg, Betty Hudnall, Shelbyville, Joyce (Marvin) Hahn, Napoleon, Gladys Catron, Greensburg, Helen (Chauncey) Robbins, Pendleton, IN, Dianna (Sheldon) Roberts, Greensburg, Sharon Veerkamp, Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Eleanora Bartholomew, and Georgianna Veerkamp, and one brother; Clarence Veerkamp Jr.  Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary service starting at 3:30 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Fr. Adam Ahern officiating.  Burial will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Greensburg High School Athletic Fund.
