Robert D. Wright

Robert D. Wright, 93, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.

Born on November 5, 1926 in Greensburg, he was the son of Calvin and Pearl (Buchanan) Wright.

Robert joined the Army and served during WWII from 1945 until 1946.  He worked for 40+ years at Bohn Aluminum before retirement.  After retiring, Robert worked as a greeter a Wal-Mart for 12 years.

He was a member of the Bethel Apostolic Church in Greensburg for over 60 years and was also an elder at the church for over 40 years.

Robert was married to Nova E. Spears on November 18, 1950 and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2016.

Robert is survived by two sons; Roger Wright, Columbus, David Wright, Greensburg, daughter; Donna Spears, Ohio, one sister; Ruby Dumont, Canada, three grandsons; Gabriel (Jaimie), Zachary, and Abram Wright, granddaughter, Ashley (Jacob) Amberger, and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and his grandson; Jeff Wright.

Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family at Layton Cemetery with Rev. Todd Smith officiating.
