Ruby E. Hartness

Ruby E. Hartness, 94, passed away on October 18, 2020 at Aspen Place Nursing Home in Greensburg, Indiana. Born, February 27, 1926 in Washington County, Indiana she was the daughter of Francis C. and Elizabeth (Dodge) Perrin. Ruby graduated from Pekin High School in 1944 and then attended Spencerian Business College in Louisville, KY in 1945. Ruby was married to Russell E. Hartness on September 4, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1997. They were lifelong residents of New Albany, Indiana until Ruby moved to Greensburg after her husband passed away, where she lived for the last 16 years. Ruby is survived by her sister; Hilda (Robert) Hoops, Greensburg, two nephews; Michael A. (Tina) Hoops, Fountain Hills, AZ, and Jon R. Hoops, Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents: Francis and Elizabeth Perrin, and one brother: Palmer Francis Perrin. Ruby will be buried next to her husband in Martinsburg Cemetery in Washington County, Indiana. Private family services will be held on a later date. Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
