Steven D. Jones

Steven D. Jones, 73, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away at his home on March 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 3, 1951, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Maurice Jones and Ruth (Tumilty) Jones.

Steven graduated from North Decatur High School in 1969 and went on to serve his country as a medic in the United States Army. After completing his service, he transitioned into a successful career in the automotive industry, a profession for which he became well known in the community. Steven was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.

A man of many passions, Steven had a deep love for cars and could often be found searching for a good deal. He also enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and playing the guitar, which brought joy to those around him. He loved watching movies and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. His attendance at their sporting events, particularly North Decatur football games, was a source of great pride.

Steven married Janis Mohler in 1996, and she survives him. He is also survived by his children: Keith (Michelle Coughlin) Jones, Christie (Jude) Shell, Kevin Jones, Jamie (Chris) Koehne, Brandon Loper, and Courtney (Michael) O'Brien; and his beloved grandchildren: Chloe Shell, Camden Shell, Ava Jones, Jack Koehne, Hayden Koehne, Carter O'Brien, Blake O'Brien, and Remi Jones.

Steven will be dearly missed by his siblings: Michael (Debbie) Jones, Marcia Bray, Kitty (Jeff) Smith, Debby (Monte) Gardner, Nancy (Norm) Wolter, Tom (Janet) Jones, Dee (Kim) Jones, and John (Pat) Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Mary Shell.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 5:00 PM, also at the funeral home.
