Susan K. Peters

After a courageous four-year battle with cancer, Susan K. Shaw Peters passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2023, with her husband, Eugene, by her side.

Susan was born February 18, 1958, the youngest child of Robert F. and Rita Elvera (Hoene) Shaw. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Greensburg High School in 1976. She married Eugene Peters at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on August 7, 1976. She worked for the Greensburg Daily News for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s, a charter member and past president of the Night Bloomers Garden Club, and served as a mentor through the AIM Program.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Eugene. Also surviving are her brothers: William (Judy) Shaw of Indianapolis, David (Suzie) Shaw of Columbus, Indiana, Michael Shaw of Marietta, Georgia; her sister, Sandra Shaw; bonus sister, Karen Newman; and brother-in-law, Fred Huser, all of Greensburg. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patti Huser; and aunt, Marian Mollaun.

Family and friends will gather to pray the rosary on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 3:30 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held following the rosary from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm also at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg with Father John Meyer officiating.
