Susanne M. Moeller

Susanne M. Moeller, 89, of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Aspen Place Health Campus of natural causes.  Born on September 1, 1930, in Greensburg, Susanne (Susie) was the daughter of Frank L. and Cathleen (Stier) Loyd.  They, as well as two infant sisters, preceded her in death.  Susie graduated from Greensburg High School in 1948, and worked for the McCoy and Douglas Auto Dealership prior to her marriage to Maurice Moeller on April 19, 1952.  He preceded her in death on September 25, 2004.  Maurice and Susie founded the Maurice Moeller Insurance Agency in 1965.  She obtained her agent’s license in 1971 and retired in 1999.  Susie spent her retirement years volunteering for the American Heart Association, Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels, St Mary’s Adoration Chapel and helping with FISH Bingo at nursing homes.  Susie was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg and a 72 year member of the St Lawrence Auxiliary.  She enjoyed birdwatching, crossword puzzles, taking motor coach tours with Maurice and attending her grandchildren’s activities.  Susie is survived by a sister, Sara J (Sally) Vanderbur of Greensburg; four children, Ann French of Gig Harbor, Washington, Barbara (Ed) Jakad of Shelbyville, Carol (Tim) Blasdel of Greensburg, and Joseph Moeller of Washington, DC.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael (Brittany N) Blasdel, Brittany K Blasdel, Amy (Greg) Nichols, Angela (Jeremy) Wilson and ten great-grandchildren.  A public rosary will start at 9AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at St. Mary’s Church followed by visitation until 11AM.  Masks are required by the church.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM at the church on Tuesday with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to St Mary’s School, Hospice of South Central Indiana or donor’s favorite charity.
