Tara Jade Berkemeier

Tara Jade Berkemeier, born in Bloomington, IN on February 9, 1980, passed away April 2, 2024 at University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Jade is survived by her husband, Matt Berkemeier, her children; Tanner Thompson, Ava Thompson, Easton Berkemeier, Cy Berkemeier, Joey Berkemeier, Granddaughter; Blakely Thompson, Brother; Bryce (Melissa) Mitchem, and parents; Kenny and LeighAnn Mitchem and Steve and Carolyn Burkhart.

Jade graduated from Martinsville High School in 1998 where she was active in sports that included gymnastics, softball, cheerleading, and weight lifting.

She was a graduate of Harrison College and worked as a registered nurse and Clinic Manager at the Neuroscience Center in Indianapolis.

Jade enjoyed reading, watching movies, celebrating holidays, especially Halloween.  She was a fan of all music and always had a new favorite song.

Her greatest passion above all was spending her time with her family.  She rarely missed any of her children’s sporting events and could always be heard cheering them on.  Family vacations were special and she always cherished them.  She was the Mama Bear and family was the center of her heart.  Her presence will always be here and she will be missed forever.

A visitation followed by Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg from 3-6 pm with the Celebration of Life service starting at 6:00pm.

In addition, a Celebration of Life will also take place at the Elks Lodge in Martinsville, IN on April 20, 2024 at 5:00pm.

The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Jade’s name.
