William Edward “Bill” Owens, 79, Greensburg passed away at his home on April 4, 2018. Bill was born in Greensburg on May 11, 1938 to Noah E. and Myrtle E. (Dawson) Owens. Bill was a former custodian at the Tree Theater in Greensburg, he delivered furniture for Taff Furniture, he worked security at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, and he was a custodian for the City of Greensburg. Bill was a member of the First Church of God, he was a member of the Men’s Group at the church, and a member of the Barbershop Quartet in Greensburg. One of Bill’s favorite things to do was attend the high school basketball games with the late Rev. Browning. Bill is survived by his brother, Lauren “Bunk” Owens, Indianapolis, his sister, Gerry McReynolds, Greensburg, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and his two caregivers, Vickie Crowell, and Phil Burt. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Everett Owens, and two sisters, Mary Smith and Doris Harrison. Visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home followed by Funeral Services at 1 pm with Rev. Terry Canfield officiating.
