Ruth C. Wolter

Ruth C. (Koetter) Wolter, 85, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013. Born December 20, 1927 in Hamburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edward and Louise (Meyer) Haskamp. Ruth ran a dairy farm in Decatur County most of her life until she retired in the mid 1990’s. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the St. Lawrence Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of the Know Your Neighbor Club. Ruth was married to Arthur J. Koetter on August 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1979. She then married Charles B. Wolter on June 18, 1994 and he survives. She is also survived by one son, James E. (Ruthie) Koetter, Greensburg, two daughters; Linda (Terry) Burton, Greensburg, Philomena (Tom) Banks, Cleves, OH, one brother; Virgil (Bertha) Haskamp, Greensburg, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 step-children; Cynthia (Daniel) Wickizer, Shelbyville, Steven Wolter, Terre Haute, Michael J. Wolter, Greensburg, Sandra (Jeff) Richardson, Westfield, Judith Wolter, Westfield, Timothy Wolter, Indianapolis, 9 step grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, 2 brothers; Bernard C. “Benny” Haskamp, Louis Haskamp, and 1 sister; Luella Nobbe. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice.
